Overview
A full day into the Rif beyond Chefchaouen to Akchour, hiking along the river to the waterfalls and the natural rock arch known as God's Bridge.
Beyond Chefchaouen, in the Talassemtane National Park, the village of Akchour is the gateway to the prettiest walking in the Rif. Trails follow a clear river through the gorge to a series of waterfalls and, on a separate path, to the Pont de Dieu (God's Bridge) — a huge natural rock arch carved by the water.
We drive from Tangier via Chefchaouen, then walk the riverside trail at an easy-to-moderate pace, with riverside café stops along the way. A nature day for travellers who want the mountains rather than the medina.

Frequently asked
Questions about this tour.
How hard is the Akchour hike?
The trail to the lower waterfalls is easy-to-moderate, on stony riverside paths with some ups and downs; allow a couple of hours each way at a relaxed pace. The God's Bridge path is shorter. We match the route to your group's fitness on the day.
Is it a long day from Tangier?
Yes — Akchour is beyond Chefchaouen, so it's a roughly two-and-a-half-hour drive each way. We leave early to give you a good few hours on the trail and still be back in Tangier for the evening.
