Good to know

Practical notes

  • Tangier Ville station and the Tarifa fast ferry (about 1 hour) both land you in the centre — two days is enough for the highlights.
  • The medina is compact and easy on foot; Cap Spartel needs a taxi or driver as it's outside the city.
  • Many central sights cluster around the kasbah, so day one can be done almost entirely walking.

Frequently asked

Is 2 days enough for Tangier?

Yes — two days covers the kasbah, the medina, the Socco squares and the strait viewpoints on day one, then Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules on day two. Add a third day if you want a Chefchaouen or Asilah trip.

What is there to do in Tangier on a short trip?

The Kasbah Museum, the Petit and Grand Socco, the medina lanes, the Terrasse des Paresseux, and out of town the Cap Spartel lighthouse and the Caves of Hercules.
